The Wizarding World of Harry Potter debuted with several attractions that drew millions through the turnstiles. Surprisingly, one such attraction was not a theme park ride, but rather a beverage. Butterbeer has generated a large fan following and can form a queue longer than some rides. Other unique beverages were created especially for the Wizarding World, but are not as well-known. These beverages include a frozen version of the namesake Butterbeer, Pumpkin Juice, a carbonated version called Pumpkin Fizz, and others.
By far, Butterbeer is the most popular beverage at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Lines form at the popular Butterbeer cart outside, in the Three Broomsticks restaurant, and at the Hog’s Head Pub. The drink is available in a plastic cup and a collectible plastic stein mug. On January 6, 2011, the one-millionth butterbeer was sold with much fanfare. There are many fan-made recipes available online, though no official account exists. Most speculate that the base of the butterbeer is primarily cream soda, and the foam has butterscotch, vanilla, or hazelnut flavoring.
The frozen version of Butterbeer is not quite as well-known as the regular version, but many prefer it. The consistency of the beverage is not akin to a Slurpee; rather, it is a thicker frozen beverage that requires a spoon or thick straw.
Pumpkin Juice is the daily beverage of choice for young witches and wizards of Hogwarts. In The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, it is served in a special bottle adorned with a plastic pumpkin cap. The beverage is 81% juice (primarily apple juice) and 200 calories for the entire bottle.
Pumpkin Fizz is the carbonated version of Pumpkin Juice. The drink can only be found in the Three Broomsticks.
Pear Cider is another exclusive beverage to the Three Broomsticks. However, a bottled version of Pear Cider can be found on a few shops and carts.
Hog’s Head Brew
The Hog’s Head Brew is the only alcoholic beverage unique to the Wizarding World. It is available in the Three Broomsticks restaurant and the Hog’s Head Pub. The tap for the beverage has a metal hog on the handle.
